I Metallica annunciano la ristampa rimasterizzata di Load, sesto disco in studio della band, 5 volte Disco di Platino. L’album è stato rimasterizzato da Reuben Cohen alla Lurssen Mastering con la supervisione di Greg Fidelman.

The Load Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set è un incredibile viaggio nel tempo del periodo 1995-97 dei Metallica, ricco di esclusive, tra cui demo inediti, rough mix, performance dal vivo, apparizioni in diretta TV e molto altro. Il Box include l’album rimasterizzato Load su doppio Vinile 180g, il Picture Disc del singolo “Mama Said” e Loadapalooza ’96, un triplo album registrato dal vivo durante il tour di Lollapalooza dei Metallica all’Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre il 4 agosto, 1996. I 15 CD del Box spaziano dall’album rimasterizzato a demo e rough mix mai usciti prima, B-Sides e rarità, oltre a vario materiale live, mentre i 4 DVD mostrano video “dietro le quinte”, in studio e dal vivo, apparizioni televisive e in diretta, la visita della band al Polar Beach Party a Tuktoyaktuk, in Canada, e altro ancora. Completano il contenuto del box diversi memorabilia tra cui 14 cartoline con immagini del Rorschach Test, un adesivo dell’artista-grafico Pushead, il poster 11×17 della data al Lollapalooza, una riproduzione della copertina della rivista Rolling Stone, 5 plettri per chitarra/basso, fogli contenenti testi di canzoni, 2 Pass utilizzati durante i tour e un libro di 128 pagine.
Originariamente pubblicato il 4 giugno 1996, Load è stato il secondo album dei Metallica a debuttare al #1 della classifica Billboard 200, dove sarebbe rimasto per quattro settimane consecutive. Le sessioni del 1995 al The Plant di Sausalito CA presenti in Load (così come in ReLoad del 1997) avrebbero visto James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Jason Newsted ad un punto fondamentale nella carriera dei Metallica. Due dei quattro singoli contenuti in Load – “Until It Sleeps” e “King Nothing” – fanno parte della setlist del M72 World Tour della band tutt’ora in corso.
